Our board of directors has been hard at work! We have confirmed we are in good financial standing with provincial government and with the City of St. John’s. We would like to stress that all appropriate documentation had been submitted by prior Boards. We are currently in the process of hiring a professional accountant to ensure appropriate documentation and financial reporting processes are adhered to on a go-forward basis.
Even without a co-chair of finance and with two vacant director seats, our current team has managed to submit event, sponsorship and grant applications already for this year’s Pride. We have partnered with a group of School of Social Work students and will be assisting them hold a fully accessible and inclusive International Women’s Day event next month. Prior to that we will be holding another by-election to fill the vacant seat of Co-Chair Finance and two Director at Large positions. We will be opening candidate nominations in the coming days and have already picked February 26 as Election Day!
We have also finalized the dates for this year’s Pride – July 10-16!
